Moving away from a big city to live a lifestyle that is more connected to the land, and better business opportunities, was a major factor for the Zehle Family’s decision to migrate from Germany in 1983 to the Adelaide Hills in South Australia.
From our passion for healthy, good, fresh food the business ‘Salad Greens and Kitchen Herbs Pty Ltd’ evolved and operated on two smaller farms in the Adelaide Hills. Gourmet salad mix and potted kitchen herbs where the core lines of the business.
2006 brought about an exciting development when the Zehle family purchased a 67-acre farm in Echunga and Sven and Judith Zehle took over the business from the retiring parents and made this pristine, fertile and unpolluted land their own. All of this is only possible with the help of dedicated volunteers, who come from all over the world and help with almost all aspects of the farm operations.
