World Bee Day

Join us at Willunga Farmers Market on Saturday, 22 May to celebrate World Bee Day, Australia’s hardest working pollinators! Three quarters of our food diversity is pollinated to some degree by bees. Put simply, we wouldn’t have farmers’ markets without bees, so it is important to acknowledge and protect them!

About one in every three mouthfuls of food we eat is pollinated by bees. Pollinator dependent crops affect 35% of global agricultural land and support the production of 87 of the world’s leading food crops.

Join DoBee Honey for a BEE Talk at 10am in Town Square and collect a colouring sheet from the Information Stall for the kids while you are at the Market!

You can download more information here about creating a pollinator habitat garden, including how to build a pollinator nest!
